The sport is unique in that it can be played by both men and women at
any age.
Individuals with disabilities can and do play at the club; often with
and against able-bodied bowlers.
The History of Lawn Bowls Lawn bowls is one of the oldest sports played today. It dates back
to at least the 14th century. Historians report that the most famous
person connected to the sport of bowls was Sir Francis Drake, back in
1588, on Plymouth Hoe as the Spanish Armada approached.
